Looking after your Plumet set
A few simple habits keep bamboo bedding feeling new for years. These are the only rules you need.
Stain tips
Blot — never rub. Treat the stain from the back of the fabric with cool water and a gentle detergent, then wash as normal. Avoid enzymatic pre-treaters, which can weaken natural fibres over time.
Wash routine
Washing your set
Cool wash at 30°C
Machine wash on a gentle cycle with a mild, bleach-free detergent. Wash dark and light separately for the first few cycles.
Skip fabric softeners
Softeners coat the fibre and block its breathability. Bamboo softens naturally — you don't need to help it.
No chlorine bleach
Bleach breaks down bamboo fibres and yellows white sets over time. Use an oxygen-based brightener if needed.
Drying and finishing
Tumble low or line dry
Low heat prevents shrinkage. Line drying in the shade keeps colours vibrant and the fibre at its softest.
Remove slightly damp
Pulling sets out 10 minutes before fully dry lets them finish smoothing in place — minimal ironing required.
Iron on low if needed
Use a low setting on the reverse side only. Most sets shake out smooth straight from the dryer.
